This installation, entitled Evaporative Fault, was completed for the Skyline Exhibit held in downtown Los Angeles. This piece was one of several selected for this event and was done inside an abandoned commercial property space at the corner of Broadway and 11th. The existing storefront was utilized to create a vessel filled with salt. The vessel was punctured to allow salt to escape, like an hour glass, transforming the room behind into a desert landscape.
The piece was done in collaboration with John Umbanhowar of hughesumbanhowar architects, and the exhibit was organized by LERATA: Laboratory for Research and Experimentation in Art, Technology, and Architecture. (For more information on the installation, click here.)
