This house was designed and built for Chet and Theresa Canoy within the Golden Village Subdivision of Cagayan de Oro, Philippines. The single-story structure was organized spatially to maximize exterior views and create a relationship to the outdoor gardens. The main entrance integrates a green screen and landscaped courtyard. The great room, situated in the center, faces the back gardens, which are accessible via large sliding glass doors. The roof drains are connected to an underground cistern that collects water for irrigation. As such, the house and its environment are blended and intertwined.
