IALC is a creative duo focused on bridging multiple avenues of design. The studio emphasizes collaboration with fellow artists and makers in order to foster interdisciplinary thought and dynamic creativity, an approach that informs their practice and work. IALC is based in Los Angeles, CA with projects both domestic and international.


Ileana Acevedo received both a Bachelor of Design from the University of Florida and a Master of Architecture from the University of California, Berkeley. Her graduate thesis was awarded the Gerson Prize, which paved the way for her to pursue additional research and serve as a guest lecturer for reputable institutions across California. Her professional experience ranges from complex infrastructural projects with Buro Happold to adaptive reuse with RAC Design Build. She currently lives and practices in Los Angeles.

Lisa Canoy received a Bachelor of Design from the University of Florida, after which she joined CO Architects of Los Angeles. There, she was involved on a wide range of projects, most notably the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County and the Health Sciences Innovation Building for the University of Arizona in Tucson. In addition to architectural practice, she became highly active within the arts community, participating in several exhibits for organizations such as the Downtown LA Art Walk and the UCLA Hammer Museum. Her involvement in both architecture and the arts continued overseas, where she traveled to conduct independent research and not-for-profit work in the Philippines. She currently lives and practices in Los Angeles where she remains active in both fields of architecture and the arts.
